Adjacent to the world renowned Sims Country Bar-B-Que, tucked away in the rolling hills of Dudley Shoals, NC, sits one of the most amazing Wedding Venues in the area. Red Cedar Farm, owned and operated by Kirby Family, is an amazing venue for intimate or large scale weddings and corporate events. Featuring large rolling hills, private forest ceremony sites, and a massive, glimmering Amish built barn, Red Cedar Farm is a Bride’s (and photographers) dream location.
As a Wedding Photo and Video services provider, it was an honor to be allowed present my services and get the inside scoop at the recent Barn to Bride Expo. The expo featured many local wedding vendors who wanted to showcase their services to couples from all over. After early morning setup and vendor lunch commenced, currently booked brides were allowed first access to the venue. For an entire hour, soon to be married couples were given time to stroll through the large barn space without any interruptions, allowing vendors to have in depth communication with brides about the services they offer and to showcase their amazing booth setups.
Shortly thereafter, the doors were open to the public and the masses flooded in. Interested couples, wedding dates not even set, were on the hunt to view this amazing venue and browse the offerings of wedding service vendors. Vendor offerings ranged from Videographers and Dj’s all the way to Florists, Cake Bakers, Jewelers, Makeup Providers and Local lodging offerings. I was personally impressed that Pstepp Photography had opportunity to speak with approximately 30 unique couples who may be interested in Wedding Film or Photography services here in the local Hickory, Granite, Lenoir and western NC area. Not only that, I was able to advertised my commercial marketing services to local vendors as well under the Stepp Marketing Services brand. What a productive day!
My favorite part of the entire event was that Red Cedar transformed the massive outdoor patio space into a mock wedding ceremony site (which brides commonly do) and held two wedding fashion runway shows. Many amazing wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and tuxedos (among other things) were shown. Brides-to-be from all over got to see how their wedding will look at Red Cedar, as well as being wowed with some of the latest trends in the wedding fashion industry. I have never been the type of guy that can say he is very interested in fashion (let alone wedding fashion), but, this was very cool to see.
